Rohan's coaching history
Rohan Started with the academy in November 2010, age 10. He could always hit the ball well for his age. However, this was due to his good hand-eye coordination rather than the quality of his swing and technique. This made consistency of ball striking and ball flight control difficult to achieve for Rohan. Preventing long term injury was also a factor in Rohan’s swing. Left as it was, Rohan’s original impact position would have led to problems long term.
Technical work building quality foundations and movement patterns was the first step required in Rohan’s coaching programme. Combined with his dedication to practice and his enthusiasm to learn, progress was quick and plentiful. After only one year of coaching, Rohan achieved this first handicap of eleven.
Rohan continued to go from strength to strength as we applied the same process to all areas of his game. He quickly became known as the “kid with the good swing” in the junior golf circles.

Golfing Aspirations
Rohan has always had a clear goal of becoming a ‘tour player’. Having a goal like this can be a fantastic asset for motivation, dedication and self-belief.
Rohan’s rapid progress continued with amazing speed. His current swing speed is 120-124, which is a huge weapon in the modern game. It is a skill that is becoming a prerequisite to play at the top level. Within a couple of seasons, he reached a handicap of five and quickly become a key player for the county. And it was not long before he was on the England team’s radar.
Rohan has had many tournament wins and successes along the way. These include 2-time Wentworth junior open winner and Horsham Golf Club champion.
He has twice qualified for the European Junior Open in Spain and finished third on one occasion. Other notable past finalists include Justin Rose, Luke Donald and Nick Dougherty.
Key Successes
Now Rohan maintains a +1 handicap and is a regular in the national setup and England squad. He is competing in national level competitions his notable finishes include:
- 1st Place: West of England U16 championship 2018
- 1st Place: Faldo series qualifier 1019
- 3rd Place: Faldo series Finals 2019
- 4th Place: McGregor Trophy 2019
Another big step in Rohan’s journey now awaits after signing with Odessa College USA (2020).
Rohan continues to be a pleasure to work with and we hope our relationship continues all the way to the Tour.
