Morton's Coaching History
Morton began his coaching at the academy in December 2018 at the age of 12. He started with a playing handicap of 24, but he is currently playing of 8 (2020).
Morton is a fantastic young man and turning into a fantastic golfer to match. When Morton joined us, his consistency of strike and dispersion were the areas that needed the most attention. He had a fairy strong push to the right due the club being stuck behind him. This would also often lead to miss hits.
Morton is an intelligent young man who listens, understands, takes on information and works hard to put it into practice. This is reflected by the great strides that he has made in all areas of his game. One of his greatest strengths, which will hold him in good stead for the future, is his calm head and even-tempered manner. As many players can attest, this is not always an easy skill or mindset to maintain as a golfer.

Golfing Aspirations
Our Mid-term goal goals for Morton are to achieve a scholarship to a US college. Our long-term goal, however, is to play on the European or PGA tour. If Morton continues on his current trajectory, we have no doubt these goals will be within his reach.
Morton’s improvements were highlighted when he broke 80 for the first time. And it didn’t go unnoticed that he then continued to shoot in the 70’s for the next 10 consecutive rounds. As a consequence, in 2020, he soon became part of the Sussex squad.
